We got new features on SutraJobs.com
Its the new year and the excitement has somewhat died down, but we thought why not embrace the new year with some new tools. We have come up with some new features that we think will help our users on Sutrajobs.com. It took us some time putting these features in place, but we finally managed to. I have listed out the features below:
1. Ask a question:
It is not only the employer who asks questions, a job seeker has many questions when going through a company profile. We are in the business of hiring for startups; so people have a lot of questions. Call it ignorance OR call it mindset, it hurts startups when it comes to attracting good talent.
We have been leading from the front when it comes to hiring for a startup in India and have a portal that helps answer most of the questions for a job seeker, however, when we speak to candidates, they always have a question or two for the employer. So we came up with a section where the candidates can direct these questions straight to the people who are in the best position to answer them.
Every job description page has a button at the bottom that enables you to ask a question to the employer.
We hope this helps our users.
2. Polls:
No!! We didn’t do it cause everyone out there is doing it, we did it so that we can collect some data. The polls appear across the websites that we own and are powered using PollDaddy. This is the best service out there and they give you a detailed analysis of your polls. The prices are a bit steep though, but completely worth it. We plan to use this data to target better jobs for our postings.
The polls are also visible on your right hand side in the sidebar. Drop in a vote before walking out
3. RSS Feed for job openings:
Ever wondered how to track all those job openings you were interested in and not being spammed by lousy marketers at the same time: well, we came up with a solution. We enable you to subscribe to feeds based on the industry type/ job type and for a particular company. So, now you only get jobs that you are interested in. We do not allow third party job posters (not even companies listed with us) to send you job mails, hence keeping your Inbox clean and providing a valuable service at the same time.
Try it out, the best part about feeds is that you do not have to fill out forms just to unsubscribe from a list. I would really appreciate some feedback on this. If there are improvements that we can work on, please do let me know.
4. Bookmarking:
Well, one of the easiest features to implement(thanks to AddThis). You can now bookmark your jobs on your favorite social networks. The feature, though easy to implement is really valuable and epitomizes what we stand for: community service. There are a lot of talented people out there who have the passion and the determination to work for a startup. We want you to push out these jobs to your friends and colleagues using the bookmarking tool. Add these jobs to your twitter, facebook, digg, delicious and any other social network you are active on and let your friends know about this. Who knows, you might help one of your friends get a job.
We are out to change the world, but we can’t do it alone. These are just tools to help us do it!!
This sums up my article on everything new on SutraJobs.com. Hope you guys find the tools useful and may the site help you out. If you have any feedback on the tools, feel free to write to me (rizwan[at]sutrajobs.com) OR leave a comment here. I would love to hear from you.
There are lots of other tools in the pipeline. Will blog about them soon.
