It would be cheaper to be plagued by Sex Scandals; ask the US. :)

India has now slipped to the 5th richest country position in the world from its former 4th place, thanks to A. Raja‘s 1.40 lac crores! Can you imagine what could have been done with that amount of money? Mayawati could have built statues of herself all over India, Ashok Chavan could have bought the entire Navy for his family and Lalu Prasad could have been bribed into not perpetrating the 1000 crore fodder scam (and gotten his ear hair removed!). The real blow however is that the media, the supposed watchdog of the country, have been accused of complicity in the 2G scam with figures like Barkha Dutt and Vir Sanghvi being involved.

One would think that with journalists constantly keeping their eyes peeled for light fingered politicians being corrupt, they would be too scared to so much as open a Swiss bank account! When the amount of money being scammed is as much as the net worth of Africa, no one really cares if the small fry help themselves to a crore or two. And that’s at the bottom of the pecking order. Adding fuel to the fire we just had the media being implicated, the last bastion of honesty and decency has been breached. Honestly, it might be better and cheaper to be a country plagued by sex scandals than by corruption; I’m sure the United States would agree with us on that.

What do you think.. is there any viable way that the common man can help reduce these scams around our country?
