In the hot seat: Kapil Garg, Founder, Thinnkware.com
“Thinnk ware is Educational Robotics & Embedded Solutions startup currently focusing in education domain. It is incorporated in Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park, JSSATE, Noida. They develop Embedded kits, Sensors modules and Robots.“
Here is the interview below; happy reading.
1. Give us a quick pitch about your Startup and the problem you’re trying to solve.
We are the game changers to learn science and engineering fundamentals through fun. Our conceptualized products (Self learning kits & Robotics kits) give comfort and motivate them to understand the practical aspects of embedded system and robotics which enables 14 to 40 years of student / Professionals to get good hands on experience which enables them to perform better in their jobs in different industry.
The problems we are trying to solve are lack of practical knowledge and availability of resources at an affordable price.
2. What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced while starting up, so far? How did you overcome them?
For a team of graduate, passed out from engineering college and started the venture, the biggest challenges we faced were to build a team which has the skills as H.R, Marketing, sales, finance, technology (obviously we are good at it to).We overcome it by taking help from friends and known ones who are already performing well in these fields. Now we have a team of 8 people of different profiles.
3. How does Thinnkware differentiate itself from the loads of other companies who are in the educational robotics domain?
Our products are available at an affordable price without any compromise in service.
4. Do you have an organization culture? How would you define it in 5 quick words?
We working through to be a market leader in robotics domain and create a friendly hard work ethics with a good work life balance. Shepherding intelligent tomorrow are the words which best describe our organization.
5. What do you prefer – Experience and/or Talent? Why?
We always prefer talent but experience is also required to make things happen at a good pace.
6. When hiring, what strategies do you use to attract, train and retain talent?
At the time of hiring we always prefer those trained by us in workshop / training because they understand our method of deliverance. Although the best way to retain and attract talent is to keep the incentives and perks as per skills but being a startup it is tough so we organize small get together and keep the people emotionally attached with the organizations and projects.
7. Tell us about a funny, memorable or learning experience you had while dealing with an HR matter or hiring.
Although dealing with H.R is never been funny for us because it is the most crucial part for an organization. You can say that the most learning experience dealing with H.R is how to control the emotions.
8. Please share your suggestions, advice or gyan for fellow entrepreneurs.
Have patience and one day enterprise is going to rock!
